Mission Statement
The Hess Ice Rink is a long-standing winter sports complex in New Castle & the only facility of its kind in Lawrence County, PA. Its mission is to provide an environment of learning, physical activity, & competitive sport to the youth of the region.
Through these principles, a solid framework has been built to instill & enhance the future of hockey & competitive ice skating in the local community.
History
What began as a small idea in 1991 spurned a tremendous project in Neshannock Township and became, what is still today, the only ice rink in Lawrence County, PA.
Hess Ice Rink is a fully enclosed complex, housing one competition style sheet of ice for sporting activities, skating lessons, and hosting recreational public activities throughout the year.
The ice rink is home to the Lawrence County Lightning and several adult hockey and competitive figure skating organizations, which have grown steadily in size over the years.
The future is bright for further enhancement & development of the complex and we are excited to see what the future holds!
